The event comprised of an interesting and interactive panel discussion. The theme of the panel discussion was ‘ICT in Education and its Benefits’. The session was extremely informative and highly appreciated by the audience.

The panel discussion was moderated by Deepak Kumar Sahu, Publisher, VARINDIA. The take away point from the moderator of the session was that the uses of ICT is making major differences in the way students are learning and the approach of the teachers. Regardless of all the limitations discussed, ICT benefits the education systems to provide quality education in alignment with constructivism, which is a contemporary paradigm of learning.

Sharad Agarwal of Fracton Technologies, said, “Technology is available and the consumer is interested, but the price factor becomes an issue.” C.S.Arora, Senior Consultant, Ministry of HRD, Department of Higher education, Govt. of India, opined, “Teachers should be more techno savvy than students. But the actual scenario is the opposite as of now. Thus, there is a gap in e-literacy.” Tarun Malik of Microsoft, pointed out, “It is important to understand what technology should is important to reach to the masses.

Sujit Panigrahi of Fitness 365, said, “Changing the mindset is very important. It is important to make the educational institutions the importance of technology in education.”

Vijay Shukla of Eduvisors, opined, “Radio is a very important means of communication, it has the ability to reach out at extremely low cost.
