Learning Outcome
This activity develops hand-eye coordination, gross motor control, and the ability to track moving objects in the air. These skills transfer to sports and activities that involve flying objects (e.g., balls, shuttlecocks, frisbees, ribbons, sticks, batons).
Activity Description
Demonstrate to students how to stand with their hands and forearms forming a bowl or basket in front of their stomach.
Toss the ball into their basket from about 30 cm away.
As your child becomes confident catching at this distance, increase the distance of your toss slightly.
Eventually, see if kids can catch from 1 meter away.
For especially young, you might begin by simply sitting and rolling the ball back and forth between you.

Activity Description
Roll the ball up the body using 2/1 hand
Hold the ball in 1 hand (palm up) with an outstretched arm, move the hand around the body keeping the ball balanced on the hand
Bounce ball continuously using 2/1/alternate hands, varying height
Pass ball from hand to hand, increasing width of arms gradually
Pick up a rolling ball. Roll ball, run after in, and pick it up.
In pairs one moves the ball around on hand, other tries to knock it off
In pairs rolling ball to each other try to receive the ball first with 2 hands than with one. Rollback

This activity develops coordination and balance as kids try to imitate the movements of their parents or play partners. (Balance, Run, Skip, Hop, Jump, Agility)
Activity Description
In Mirror Mirror, two partners face each other. One person is the “mirror master” and makes body movements. The other person must copy or “mirror” the movements.
For the first try, stand facing your child with a small space between you.
As you wave your arms, jump, step, wiggle, bend, or otherwise move, your child must try to “mirror” your movement.
After your child has imitated you for a few minutes, let your child be the mirror master.
Try different fundamental movements such as hopping, jumping, spinning, skipping, and running on the spot.
Variations
Try different movement themes – the mirror master can imagine he or she is a hockey player, a firefighter, James Bond, or anyone else who does a lot of moving.

Learning Outcome
This activity develops hand-eye coordination and timing while using a simple racquet (i.e., striking tool). These skills also transfer to striking with a bat or stick.
Activity Description
Blow up a balloon of the “round” type.
Inflate to medium or medium-low pressure, so the balloon “floats” a little bit but not too much.
Create simple “tennis racquets” by taping a paint stir stick to the back of each paper plate.
Hang the string or ribbon horizontally about one meter above the floor between two chairs, or between bookshelves or countertops. This is your “net”.
Using your racquets, hit the balloon back and forth across the net with your child or children.
If someone allows the balloon to touch the floor on their side, the person on the other side of the net scores a point.
Play the first person to 5 points, and then start again.
Your racquets are not allowed to cross over the top of the net.
You are allowed to touch the balloon more than once on your side if necessary.
Variations
If you have more than one child or more than one adult, try playing a fun family tournament where family members take turns playing each other

Activity Description
Inflate a round balloon to low pressure so it is not too hard or likely to pop.
Find a large indoor or outdoor space free of obstacles.
Practice kicking the balloon with your toddler.
If the balloon is kicked high into the air, try to catch it with your hands.
Variations
• Tie a long string to the balloon and hang it from a doorframe or a tree. The balloon should hang about 5cm above the ground.
